Food Technology GCSE This course enables you to demonstrate creativity through designing food products. Research can involve investigating proportions, flavours and storage options through practical work. Candidates develop a working knowledge of a wide range of materials, ingredients and standard components appropriate to food production. This is a practical subject which requires the application of knowledge and understanding when developing ideas, planning, producing products and evaluating them. You will develop ICT skills to communicate ideas; operate CAD/CAM machinery, learn industrial techniques and systems. You will gain experience using different ingredients and processes and develop a sound knowledge of nutrition.
