I.C.T. CIDA The course is designed to create confident users of digital applications able to apply skills purposefully and effectively. Students will also take the unit in Graphics to gain two GCSEs. Each unit takes about 90 hours of curriculum time. What is GCSE ICT about? The Using ICT unit covers using information sources, working with information, presenting information, print and digital publishing, creating an e-portfolio and project planning, monitoring and evaluation. It builds on the Key Stage 3 programme of study and uses a practical approach to develop a body of skills and knowledge. The course uses work-related contexts and uses eportfolios for assessment. The Graphics unit will also cover: Designing products Using various packages to design products Prototyping and testing Presenting graphics products in an e-portfolio Project planning, monitoring and evaluation Creating a graphics e-portfolio
