Mathematics GCSE The content of the course follows the National Curriculum for Mathematics at KS4. Students will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding in the following areas, through a series of units of work determined by the school. Students use and apply maths in practical tasks and in real-life problems. They encounter and consider different lines of mathematical argument. Students will use calculators and computer software including spreadsheets. They explore a variety of situations that lead to the expression of relationships and consider how relationships between number operations underpin techniques for manipulating algebraic expressions. Students explore shape and space through drawing and practical work; the use computers to generate and transform graphic images and to solve problems. Students undertake purposeful enquiries based on data analysis; they use ICT to simulate events and to explore graphs and charts; they engage in practical experiments to investigate probability and look critically at how statistics and be misleading.
