Balances
The Balance sheet provides up-to-date information about the way your students and their characteristics (factors) are spread throughout your intake.
The example shown here is taken from a sort into 6 classes. You can see that the program has achieved the following:
- Identical numbers of children in each class
- Males and females divided as perfectly as possible between classes
- The classes (as specified by the user) are mixed ability
- There were four more factors (not shown here) where the categories were similarly well balanced
If your school has certain "main feeders", you may wish to spread out their children evenly across the classes.
In the example used on this page, the user decided to spread out the children from its three main feeder schools
If, after viewing your balances, you are not quite satisfied, you can simply make any alterations and run the sorting routine again or, if it just needs a "tweak", you may wish to make a manual change. In the latter case, you can immediately see the effect on the balances by updating them using the Utilities sheet.
