The Friends Sheet

After a sorting routine has been run, this sheet lists your students in horizontal friendship groups. Each group has information relevant to the balances you are trying to achieve.

This sheet is of particular use if you wish to perform manual alterations to your classes.

The Targets Sheet

This is the sheet least used by schools. It is of significance only if you are in the unusual position where you need to create one or two smaller-sized groups whilst keeping the balances in proportion.

In the example shown here, the user has the physical problem that Class 3's classroom is smaller than the others and can only accommodate up to 25 students.

In this case, the program will attempt to:

  • Assign 25 students to Class 3
  • Equally distribute the other students across the remaining classes
  • Ensure Class 3 has the same proportions of factors as the other groups

If you do not have such a requirement, this sheet should be left blank to allow the program a free choice in balancing student numbers across the intake.
